Former New York Gov. David Paterson and his stepson were attacked while on a walk in Manhattan by individuals who had a previous interaction with the stepson. Both Paterson and his stepson went to the hospital as a precaution after the incident in East Harlem. Paterson’s spokesperson, Sean Darcy, confirmed that they were able to fight off their attackers and suffered injuries in the process. Paterson served as lieutenant governor under Gov. Eliot Spitzer and took over as governor in 2008 after Spitzer’s resignation. A police report has been filed and both Paterson and the other man involved are in stable condition. The attack is currently under investigation and no arrests have been made.
