Two people taken to hospital following shooting in eastern New Mexico


Authorities in Clovis, New Mexico, are currently investigating a shooting incident that took place in the early hours of Sunday, Oct. 27. Police responded to reports of gunshots on West Plaza Drive around 4 a.m., where they discovered multiple crashed vehicles and a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The teenager was rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical but stable condition. Additionally, a 24-year-old woman was also found to have been shot and was taken to the hospital, where she is now in stable condition. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting.

The special operations unit of the Clovis Police Department is actively investigating the incident, working to gather more information and identify any suspects involved. Residents are encouraged to stay updated on developments through the KOAT app.
