Tamer Weather Expected in New Mexico Ahead of Winter Storm

The Southwest region is set to experience milder temperatures before the arrival of a slow-moving winter storm next week. Chief Meteorologist Joe Diaz advises residents to enjoy the calm weather while it lasts as temperatures are expected to increase on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. However, a storm system approaching will bring snow showers and dropping temperatures by the middle to latter part of the week.

The average high for this time of year is 27 degrees, but temperatures are expected to rise over the next few days. Residents are advised to stay updated on the forecast as the storm system moves in, bringing the potential for accumulating snow across a broad area of New Mexico.

The KOAT App provides customized weather alerts and allows users to watch the latest forecast, check live interactive radar, and receive severe weather alerts for their area. In preparation for the upcoming storm, residents are urged to stay informed and monitor the changing weather conditions throughout the week.
