New Mexico United is delighted to announce the return of midfielder Sergio Rivas, a native of Albuquerque, for the upcoming 2025 USL Championship season. Rivas, who joined the team in 2021, will be entering his fifth season with the club and has proven to be a key player in the midfield.
Sporting Director Itamar Keinan expressed his excitement about welcoming Rivas back to the team, praising his dedication and hard work during the preseason. Rivas has made a total of 117 appearances for New Mexico United, scoring 17 goals and establishing himself as a significant contributor to the team.
Rivas, a product of Cibola High School in Albuquerque, went on to play collegiate soccer at Seattle University before joining Reno 1868 FC for two seasons. His return to New Mexico United in 2021 has been a successful one, and fans can look forward to seeing more of his talent on the field in the upcoming season.
