NM State Baseball to Host I-25 Rival New Mexico in Midweek Matchup
NM State Baseball is gearing up for a midweek showdown against I-25 rival New Mexico on Tuesday night at Presley Askew Field in Las Cruces. The Aggies are coming off a weekend series with a win over No. 17 Dallas Baptist, and are looking to continue their success against the Lobos.
This matchup will be the second meeting of the season and the 264th all-time meeting between the two teams. NM State has hosted UNM 138 times, with the Aggies currently on a three-game home winning streak against the Lobos.
The Aggies have been performing well this season, with strong play from leadoff hitter Brandon Forrester and standout performances from two-way player Steve Solorzano. The team has also been solid defensively, ranking first in the country with 29 double plays turned so far this season.
