Aggies Secure Series Win Behind Strong Early Offense

NM State Baseball Takes Series Win with 9-6 Victory Over Sam Houston

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The NM State baseball team secured a series win against Sam Houston with a 9-6 victory on Sunday afternoon. The Aggies got off to a strong start with big early innings that gave them a lead they held onto for the win.

NM State wasted no time scoring, with two runs in the first inning and four more in the second, thanks to hits from players like Mitch Namie and Bryce Campbell. Namie had a standout performance, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs, including a two-run double. The Aggies added two more runs in the third and one in the fourth, extending their lead to 9-2.

Sam Houston fought back with runs in the second, fourth, and fifth innings, but the Aggies’ early lead proved to be enough. Pitchers Carson Timmons, Jaden Davis, Matthew Yarc, and Hayden Lewis combined for seven innings of relief, holding off the Bearkats.

NM State’s offense was strong, with 10+ hits in their 19th game this season and four doubles on Sunday. Players like Boston Vest, Dane Woodcook, and Kade Benavidez contributed to the win, with standout performances from Namie and Campbell.

The Aggies now look ahead to their next game against Arizona on April 8th at 7 p.m. MT. For more coverage of NM State Baseball, fans can visit NMStateSports.com and follow the team on social media. #NM State#
