A 37-year-old man named Jamison Wagner from Albuquerque has been charged with two counts of arson against the Republican Party headquarters in New Mexico and a Tesla dealership. Wagner faces between five and 20 years in prison on each count if convicted. Attorney General Pamela Bondi condemned the attacks as “ongoing political violence” against Tesla facilities and political establishments.
Wagner is accused of two separate arson offenses in Albuquerque, where two Model Y Teslas were damaged at the Tesla showroom and the GOP offices. Graffiti found at the scene included anti-Tesla and anti-Elon Musk messages, some even featuring swastikas. Surveillance footage showed a man prosecutors believe to be Wagner setting the fires intentionally.
Investigators found incendiary devices and materials for making them at Wagner’s home, along with spray paint supporting the message “ICE=KKK” found at the scenes. The FBI conducted a search of Wagner’s home following the arson attacks. Wagner awaits a detention hearing on Wednesday as the investigation continues.
