Bunch Leads Team to Playoffs as Aggies Secure Fifth Place at CUSA Championships


The 2025 Conference USA Championships concluded at the World Golf Village with the New Mexico State Aggies finishing in fifth place with a team score of 892 (+28). Emma Bunch tied for first individually after shooting a 71 (-1) on Tuesday, ultimately losing in a playoff for the individual title. Bunch was named to the Conference USA All-Tournament Team along with five other players. Graduate student Angela Garvin also had a strong showing, finishing tied for 8th. The Aggies had a solid performance on the par 4s and par 5s throughout the tournament. Bunch will now await the NCAA Selection Show on April 23 to see if she qualifies for NCAA Regionals.

The tournament saw an increase in average scores from the previous day, with Hole 17 proving to be the toughest on the course. Hole 14 was the easiest, with players averaging 3.89 on the par 4. The Aggies ranked third in average scoring on par 4s and had standout performances from Garvin and Bunch on these holes. Bunch led all players with seven strokes under par on the par 5s and recorded a tournament-best 14 birdies.
