3 people killed in boating accident at Alabama fishing competition


Three people tragically died in a boat crash on Lewis Smith Lake in Alabama during a fishing tournament. The crash occurred when a Nitro Bass Boat collided with a Center Console boat on the second day of the Tackle Warehouse Invitational organized by Major League Fishing. The victims were identified as Joey M. Broom, John K. Clark, and Jeffrey C. Little, all on the Center Console boat. Clark and Little were thrown overboard and drowned, while Broom died from injuries sustained in the crash. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is actively investigating the incident. Major League Fishing canceled the third and final day of the tournament, expressing deep sadness over the tragedy. Executive Vice President Kathy Fennel stated that the organization’s thoughts and condolences are with those affected by the incident.
