Military officials have identified two Marines who were killed in a crash in New Mexico. The Marines were identified as Capt. Michael Joseph Ferreira, 33, of Brazil, Indiana, and Capt. Nathanael Robert Doring, 31, of Apple Valley, California. The two were flying a UH-1Y helicopter when it crashed during a training mission near the White Sands Missile Range.

According to military officials, the cause of the crash is under investigation, and there were no other individuals onboard the helicopter at the time of the incident. The Marines were stationed at Camp Pendleton in California and were part of Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 269.

The Marines’ commanding officer, Lt. Col. Waylon Wright, expressed his condolences to the families of the two Marines and praised them for their dedication and service to the country. The Marine Corps has also stated that they are providing support to the families of the two Marines during this difficult time.
