West Virginia University at Parkersburg (WVUP) is excited to announce the launch of its new Radiology Technology program, set to begin in May. The program, led by Director Erin Martin, will offer an accelerated 16-month curriculum for students interested in pursuing a career in radiology.
Martin, who has a background in education and health care, was inspired to join the field after her own experiences with radiology during pregnancy. She now combines her passion for both education and health care by teaching future radiologic technologists at WVUP.
Students in the program will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at WVU Medicine, working in various clinical settings alongside registered technologists. Prerequisites for admission include completing Biology 109, achieving a score of 75 or higher on the HESI entrance exam, completing a job shadowing session at WVU Medicine, and maintaining a minimum 2.0 GPA.
The program is eligible for the WV Invests grant and qualifies for the Ohio reciprocity agreement, providing an affordable pathway for students interested in a career in health care. Applications for the program can be found at the Nursing Office at WVUP or on their website.
