Actor and comedian Anthony Anderson is set to host the 7th Annual Anthony Anderson Celebrity Golf Classic at the Bighorn Golf Club in Palm Desert next month. The event, scheduled for May 18-19, will bring together A-list celebrities, sports figures, and entertainment industry icons for two days of golf, philanthropy, and celebration in support of nonprofit organizations that uplift children, young adults, and adults in the areas of health, wellness, faith, and mentorship.
Confirmed celebrity participants include Don Cheadle, Cedric the Entertainer, Alex English, Alissa Kacar, and many others. Anderson’s tournament, which benefits the Anderson Family Foundation, was co-founded by Anderson and his wife, Alvina Anderson, to help those in the inner city and those who don’t always receive the help they need. Anderson emphasized the importance of giving back, especially to organizations dedicated to educating and mentoring youth.
The event will kick off with a VIP Welcome Reception & Pairings Party on May 18 featuring dinner, entertainment, a live and silent auction, and a cigar lounge where guests can mingle with celebrity participants. The golf tournament will begin at 10 a.m. the following day and conclude with a post-tournament awards celebration at 3:30 p.m.
Anderson expressed his gratitude for his blessings and the values instilled in him by his parents, who guided him through tough times growing up in Watts and Compton. The event aims to provide confidence, protection, and hope to the youth through education and mentorship programs.
