Holland Snell Earns All-Conference Honors Following Impressive Freshman Year
DALLAS – NM State’s standout freshman athlete, Holland Snell, has been recognized for his exceptional performance this season, earning a spot on the Conference USA Second Team All-Conference Singles, as voted by head coaches within the league.
Hailing from El Paso, Texas, Snell made a striking debut with the Crimson & White, showcasing his skills primarily at the No. 3 singles position, with additional appearances at No. 2 and No. 4. He wrapped up the season with a commendable 10-7 record, marking him as the second-leading singles player on the team. Snell’s season was highlighted by several straight-set victories against formidable opponents including teams from Louisiana, UNLV, UC Irvine, and UTRGV.
One of Snell’s most memorable matches featured a tough three-set clash against Nevada’s Lucas Hammond, where he overcame the challenge with a score of 6-3, 6-4, 6-4. He concluded his inaugural season on a high note, delivering a commanding 6-0, 6-0 victory over Kennesaw State’s Erik Vladimirov during the Conference USA Tournament.
In addition to Snell’s achievements, the Conference USA concluded its postseason awards with notable recognitions: Karim Al-Amin from MTSU was named Player of the Year, while David Krasner of Jax State took home the Newcomer of the Year honor. The championship saw Ondrej Horak (MTSU) recognized as the Outstanding Singles Player.
