Central Michigan Football Announces Series with New Mexico

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—The Central Michigan Chippewas football team is set to face off against New Mexico in a two-game home-and-home series announced by Athletics Director Amy Folan. The first matchup will take place in Albuquerque on September 5, 2026, followed by a return game in Mount Pleasant on September 8, 2029.

As the Chippewas gear up for the upcoming 2025 season, they will kick things off at San Jose State on August 28. The 2025 schedule boasts five home games, predominantly on weekends, and includes seven in-state matchups, such as contests against Michigan (September 13) and Western Michigan (November 1).

Looking ahead, Central Michigan’s non-conference schedule also features a variety of opponents: Colgate and Wyoming in 2026, Michigan State and Monmouth in 2027, and additional games in 2030 against Michigan State and San Diego State.

Fans can keep up with Central Michigan football updates through their social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. The announcement reflects the Chippewas’ commitment to strengthening their non-conference schedule and building a competitive program.
