Press Release: New Mexico Set to Experience Mild Weather with Scattered Rain Showers
Albuquerque, NM — May 8, 2025
New Mexico is poised for milder weather in the coming days, with scattered rain showers forecasted across various regions. While Albuquerque currently enjoys dry skies and sunshine, southern parts of the state, particularly near the Sacramento Mountains, are experiencing intermittent showers and thunderstorms. The rain is expected to drift toward areas such as Roswell and Artesia.
As high-pressure systems build over the state, a significant warming trend will commence. Temperatures are projected to be around 47°F in the morning, reaching up to 75°F in the afternoon. By the weekend, particularly on Mother’s Day, many areas are anticipated to see temperatures soar into the 70s and 80s, coupled with abundant sunshine.
Despite the favorable weather, winds are expected to increase next week, potentially leading to blowing dust in southeastern regions. As a precaution, residents are encouraged to stay informed via the KOAT App for weather alerts and updates.
