NM State Men’s Golf Garners Multiple All-Conference Honors Ahead of NCAA Regional
DALLAS – Following a stellar season, the NM State men’s golf team celebrates significant achievements as four players earn all-conference honors, marking the program’s strongest showing in this category under Head Coach Mike Dirks.
Aidan Thomas, Ethan Klose, Alexandre Bauduin, and Mateo Payán have been recognized by the Conference USA (C-USA), with Thomas leading the pack as a First Team All-C-USA selection. The sixth-year senior from Albuquerque claimed the first-ever C-USA individual title for the Aggies, finishing with an outstanding average score of 71.6 over 30 rounds.
Klose, a senior from Phoenix, received Second Team All-C-USA honors, marking his first all-conference recognition. He has showcased impressive performances with three top-10 finishes, including a title at the Border Olympics. Bauduin, a redshirt senior from France, secured third team honors and recorded an average score of 72.9, highlighted by a personal best 64 at the Herb Wimberly Memorial.
Freshman Mateo Payán capped off his debut season with a place on the All-C-USA Freshman Team, maintaining a scoring average of 73.1 and achieving three top-10 finishes. His contributions have been crucial, notably finishing tied for fourth at the UC San Diego Invitational.
The four recognized players will head to Auburn, Alabama, on Monday to compete in the NCAA Auburn Regional at the Auburn University Club, marking another milestone in a successful season for NM State men’s golf. With these accolades, the Aggies not only celebrate individual excellence but also a collective team spirit that has propelled them into the postseason spotlight for the first time since 2012.
