This was Hudson’s second consecutive appearance in the pageant; she was first runner-up last year. Representing Hancock, she competed across three segments: interview, swimsuit, and evening gown. The winner, Shelby Howell from Bangor, will progress to the Miss USA competition.
During the event, Hudson earned the “Most Stylish” award and expressed pride in her performance. In the interview segment, she shared a poignant memory involving her family’s fishing boat, emphasizing her concern about the declining fishing community in rural Maine. Hudson vowed to advocate for these communities if crowned Miss Maine USA, aiming to support fishermen facing displacement.

The couple met in 2021 and she is actively involved in managing his personal brand while he serves as the head coach at the University of North Carolina (UNC).

Belichick defended her actions, stating that she was ensuring the interview remained focused. Moreover, just prior to the Miss Maine USA event, there were reports of Hudson being banned from UNC football facilities, which the university denied, clarifying that while she is not an employee, she is welcome to support Belichick at the facilities.
