Press Article: Band’s Gear Stolen During National Tour in Albuquerque
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A national touring band, Raynes, faced a harrowing experience when their trailer, containing an estimated $80,000 worth of gear, was stolen while they stayed at a local hotel. Fortunately, thanks to the quick action of their fans, the trailer was recovered just eight minutes away. However, the band still reported approximately $1,500 worth of items missing.
Band member Mat Charley shared their initial fears, expressing, “We were immediately completely prepared for the worst… we were thinking about canceling the rest of the tour and filing an insurance claim.” The band was on the verge of losing hope, but their fans rallied to help, demonstrating the strong community support.
Despite the theft, Raynes praised their experience in Albuquerque, noting, “We don’t hate Albuquerque now… just a tough experience.” After a successful performance at Revel, which they deemed one of their favorites, the band promised to return, vowing to select a more secure hotel on their next visit. This incident, while stressful, has only fueled their appreciation for their fans and the resilience of the live music community.
