NM State Women’s Basketball Welcomes Myron Brown as Assistant Coach
LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The NM State Women’s Basketball program has announced the hiring of Myron Brown as its new assistant coach, effective June 2, 2025. A seasoned coach with nearly two decades of experience, Brown arrives from Oakland University, where he served as the Director of Player Development over the past two seasons. His contributions were pivotal in enhancing student-athlete development and supporting overall program success.
Before his tenure at Oakland, Brown spent a year as an assistant coach at the University of North Florida, focusing on game planning, skill enhancement, and recruiting. His coaching journey also includes a five-year stint as the head coach at Thomas University, where he established a competitive program recognized for its discipline and achievement. Under his leadership, the Nighthawks produced numerous all-conference and all-academic selections, showcasing his commitment to player development and sound recruiting strategies.
Brown is academically equipped, holding a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science from Rochester University. The NM State Women’s Basketball team is excited about the wealth of knowledge and experience Brown brings to the coaching staff and looks forward to his impact on the program.
