NM State Athletes Shine on 2025 CUSA All-Academic Team
DALLAS – In a remarkable recognition of both academic and athletic excellence, NM State student-athletes Bailey Bowles and Angela Korte have earned spots on the 2025 Conference USA All-Academic Team, as announced in a press release on Friday.
Graduate student Bailey Bowles, hailing from Roswell, boasts an impressive 4.00 GPA in Communication Disorders. In addition to receiving the prestigious 2025 CUSA Commissioner’s Academic Medal and Honor Roll selection, Bowles demonstrated her prowess in track and field this season. She delivered the season’s best javelin throw for the Aggies at 44.74m and achieved four top-10 finishes, including a notable first-place finish at the Greyhound Open. Moreover, she competed in the discus at the CUSA Outdoor Championships.
Junior competitor Angela Korte, originally from Albuquerque, maintains a strong 3.92 GPA while pursuing a Biology degree. She not only matched her academic accolades—being named a recipient of the 2025 CUSA Commissioner’s Academic Medal and Honor Roll—but also excelled on the track. Korte participated in 10 meets this season and played a crucial role in establishing a school-record-setting distance medley relay team at the CUSA Indoor Championships. She scored in the 800m at the CUSA Outdoor Championships, ranking fourth all-time in NMSU history with a time of 2:09.88 at the Bryan Clay Invitational, while also achieving seven top-10 finishes throughout the year.
